React! Love Them All!

I’m reading Soledad O’Brien’s book, The Next Big Story, and in it she tells of reading some of the speech notes of Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King’s home had been bombed, his family was in danger, and he had to speak in code on the telephone. He could have retaliated with anger, but he told his followers not to let anger win the day. Instead, he said, ” Bomb our homes and threaten our children and we will still love you. We will wear you down with our capacity to suffer. Throw us in jail and we will still love you.” He went on to further state, No!, we must not lose faith in our white brothers.”

Wow! when I read that, I thought about all of the problems in the world today. I thought about the middle east. The killings in Africa, Mexico, and the violence that is anticipated in Ferguson, Mo.

God is the same today, yesterday, and forever isn’t He?

Why has things seemly gotten out of control again?

We think of the book of Jonah as being this story of a reluctant prophet saved by this monster fish. The story ending with all of its people being saved! WOW! What a wonderful ending huh?

Is it really such a great ending, or is their still work to be done in the life of one believer? Yes. Jonah needs help. As the kids would say, Jonah still has stinking thinking. What about you?

Writing this blog has forced me to listen to the weekly messages a couple extra times, and I’m grateful for that. God is telling me, Burt, you are like Jonah. You have not been concern about all of my people. You have been picking and choosing those who you love. Get it right Burt! I want you to really know My Heart, and I love everything that I have created.

Don’t be afraid to act on the love I’ve placed in your heart, with Me, you can do all things. It’s not too late.

I'm a young senior, recently married, after raising 5 kids. I'm a christian and love to capture videos and tell stories with the camcorder. I love to skate and sing. I love to learn new things. I also love to garden and plant new kinds of veggies. I find it fascinating that people can communicate through blogging the word of God.
